The night belonged to Vera Samuel, who delivered a sensational hat-trick, leading the Prosperity Girls to an emphatic win. Samuel struck first in the 29th minute with a precise header from Mega Cynthia’s cross, but Naija Ratels leveled just before halftime in the 44th minute.
Undeterred, Bayelsa Queens launched a second-half onslaught, as Mega Cynthia restored their lead immediately in the 46th minute. While Alaba Olabiyi missed a golden chance to extend the advantage, Samuel returned in the 60th minute, putting the match beyond doubt. She completed her hat-trick just eight minutes later, sealing a historic triumph for Bayelsa Queens.
Coach Ogbonda Celebrates Sixth NWFL Crown
Jubilant Bayelsa Queens’ Technical Adviser, Whyte Ogbonda, praised his squad’s patience and resilience in overcoming the Ratels.
“The spirit and togetherness on the pitch was amazing. It was all about being patient,” Ogbonda remarked.
