The Prosperity Cup, Nigeria’s largest grassroots football tournament, has firmly established itself as a breeding ground for future football stars, with its impact now evident across top-tier leagues.

Speaking ahead of the grand finale at Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, on Friday, June 13, 2025, the Director General of the tournament, Mr. Ono Akpe, expressed satisfaction over the competition’s progress and dividends after years of strategic investments.

Akpe highlighted that the tournament has become a springboard for grassroots talents, with several players progressing to Bayelsa United and NPFL clubs, reinforcing the tournament’s mission to develop local footballers.
