The last batch of Bayelsa State Contingents that are billed to participate at this year’s National Para Games Departed Yenagoa to Abuja , the host city for the games . The Delegation which left Yenagoa to Abuja on Friday the 8th of December 2023 was led by the Director of Sports Bayelsa State Sports Council , Sir Braveman Wodi.

The Bayelsa State contingents were made up of Athletes , Coaches, Team officials, Essential and support Staff.

Team Bayelsa contingents were in high spirit as most of the coaches and athletes were optimistic of winning laurels for Bayelsa state. Athletes and officials interviewed by the Bayelsa State Sports Council Media Team at the sports complex shortly before the team’s departure were hopeful of a first place podium finish.

They noted that as champions of the last edition, they are optimistic that Bayelsa State will retain the tittle as champions of this year’s edition of the National Para-Games which will make Bayelsa State history makers by being the first State to win the National Para-Games in two consecutive editions having won the last edition with 30 Gold Medals.

The National Para Games is scheduled to hold between 7th to 15th December, 2023 in Abuja ,the Nation’s capital.
