In a display of grit and excellence, these conquering wrestlers showcased dedication and heart, etching their names in the annals of Nigerian sports history.

Upon their victorious return, Dr. Daniel Igali, Hon. Commissioner of Sports Development, warmly welcomed the champions and extolled their hard work and perseverance. Emphasizing the visionary support of the Bayelsa State Government led by Sen. Douye Diri, Dr. Igali remarked that the athletes’ success perfectly embodies the state’s commitment to sports development. In recognition of their achievements, each gold medalist received ₦200,000, while silver and bronze medalists were honored with ₦100,000 each—with coaches also receiving well-deserved financial rewards.
Dr. Igali offered hearty gratitude towards key supporters who made this outstanding performance possible, including the National Sports Commission under Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olapade, whose efforts ensured smooth logistical arrangements, as well as the steadfast support from the Nigeria Customs Service’s Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. The gracious acknowledgments extended further to the Prosperity Government of Sen. Douye Diri and his deputy Sen.
