Team Nigeria raised its medal haul as silver Olympic medallist Blessing Oborodudu Becomes 12-time African champion.
While Blessing Oborudu was celebrating record gold crown, her counterpart Mercy Genesis clinched gold medal in the 50kg as team Nigeria record 6 gold and 4 silver medal in day-3 at the African Senior Wrestling Championships in Hammamet, Tunisia
Christianah Ogunsanya of Nigeria defeated Nogona Bakayoko Cote d’Ivoire 11-0 while Adegoke Jumoke added to the gold list for team Nigeria in the 55kg
Similarly, in the 57kg finals Hammami Faten of Tunisia lost to Adekuoroye Mercy of Nigeria 11-0 coupled with Biogos Ebi 5-0 victory over Egyptian Vadran Menatalia in the 72kg
Meanwhile, in the 59kg finals Patience Opuene of Nigeria lost 3-8 to Bousseta Siwar of Tunisia to end up with a silver medal while Kolawale Esther settles for silver medal after falling 7-1 to Marwa Amri of Tunisia in the 62kg
In addition, Hannah Reuben added more silver to team Nigeria on the day after losing 2-4 to Hamza Samir of Egypt in the 76kg finals, Ebipatei Moghenbofa made it four silver for team Nigeria in the 65k
With the victory Nigeria retained its team title in female wrestling becoming 12-time African female wrestling champions
On the whole Team Nigeria has recorded 9 Gold and 4 Silver and 2 bronze
