The Bayelsa State Table Tennis Association has officially unveiled Nigerian star and former African Junior Champion, Taiwo Mati, as its latest signing.
The announcement, made by the association’s chairman, Ama-Ebi Stow, through his social media accounts and an official statement, has been met with excitement. Mati’s arrival is expected to significantly strengthen the team while uplifting their morale as they gear up for the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
The table tennis sensation will join forces with a formidable lineup of seasoned players, including Olajide Omotayo, Azeez Solanke, Orok Etim, Boboye Samuel, and Matthew John, creating a powerful team ready to compete at the highest level.
As part of their preparation, the team is set to engage in friendly matches against neighboring states Rivers, Delta, and Edo, ensuring they are in peak form for the festival. Mati’s addition signals Bayelsa’s determination to dominate the tournament.
