The spirit of unity and wellness was deeply felt today as the Bayelsa State Government paid tribute to one of its most cherished walkers, the late Pa Foster Akulasa, during the weekly Thursday Prosperity Walk.

Led by Governor Douye Diri, participants observed a solemn one-minute silence in honor of Pa Foster, whose unwavering commitment to the walk—even into his 90s—left an indelible mark on the community.

“Pa Foster was a very young man at heart,” Governor Diri remarked. “He walked with us every week, covering up to five kilometers. If he could do that in his 90s, then truly I must be a child. His strength and commitment inspired us all.”

The Governor commended the walking community for their vibrant turnout and dedication, highlighting the Prosperity Walk as a vital force for health, joy, and togetherness across Bayelsa.

As the festive season approaches, Governor Diri called on all Bayelsans to honor Pa Foster’s legacy:

“Let us show accountability and generosity. We must all participate in Pa Foster’s funeral rites and honor his legacy with dignity. A memo will be prepared to approve appreciation support to his family.”

The Prosperity Walk continues to be a cornerstone of Bayelsa’s wellness and community engagement efforts, drawing hundreds of participants each week. Pa Foster Akulasa’s memory will forever be a guiding light for the initiative.

🕊️ Rest in peace, Pa Foster. Your footsteps echo in our hearts.
