It was a joyful and spirited celebration as Bayelsa Queens FC, fondly known as the Prosperity Girls, gathered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Chapel of Praise) for a special thanksgiving service following their victorious 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership campaign.

The atmosphere was electric with dancing, praise singing, and heartfelt thanksgiving as the management, coaches, players, and backroom staff came together to give glory to God for what has been an exceptional season.

🏆 Gratitude for Triumph and Prayers for the Future

Speaking during the service, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, Chairman of Bayelsa Queens FC, emphasized the importance of acknowledging divine grace in their journey to becoming champions. He stated:

“We have come as a club to thank God for the success achieved by the Prosperity Girls in winning the NWFL Premiership. We also seek His grace as we prepare to represent the nation at the WAFU Zone-B tournament.”

Reflecting on the team’s journey, Pastor Apreala added:

“The mark of a great team is in its ability to rise to the occasion. Last season, we came close but lost at home to Edo Queens. That defeat fueled our determination, and today, we celebrate victory.”

🙏 A Call to Stay Grounded and Focused

In his message and prayer for the team, Pastor S.A. Folasayo, Regional Pastor in charge of RCCG Region 27, urged the players to remain focused and disciplined as they gear up for their next challenge on the continental stage.

“The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare,” Pastor Folasayo declared, encouraging the team to prepare spiritually, physically, and mentally.

He also prayed for divine protection, unity, and success as Bayelsa Queens step onto the WAFU stage, representing not just Bayelsa State, but Nigeria at large.

The Road Ahead

Having conquered the domestic league, Bayelsa Queens now set their sights on regional glory at the WAFU Zone-B qualifiers, where they will compete for a spot at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

As they march forward, backed by faith and determination, the Prosperity Girls are once again poised to make Bayelsa and Nigeria proud.
