Bayelsa Queens Football Club of Yenagoa have announced the signing of Chidi Harmony, a dynamic centre-forward and utility player, on loan from Imo Strikers FC, as part of preparations for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

Harmony, who was part of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team—the Flamingos—that competed at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, brings youthful energy and international experience to the Prosperity Girls’ attacking lineup.

Speaking during the official unveiling ceremony held on Wednesday at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, the Chairman of Bayelsa Queens FC, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, described the new signing as a significant addition to the team’s ambition of securing a continental ticket in the upcoming season.

The Chairman expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri, for his steadfast commitment to sports development, noting that the team’s progress over the years has been made possible by the Governor’s passion and support.

He also commended the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr. Baraladei Daniel Igali (Oly), for their continued encouragement and contributions toward the success of Bayelsa Queens FC.

With the addition of Chidi Harmony, Bayelsa Queens continue to demonstrate their resolve to remain a dominant force in women’s football in Nigeria and beyond, as preparations intensify for another competitive NWFL Premiership campaign.
