…Extends Appreciation to Premium Trust Bank for Support
Chairman of Bayelsa Queens FC, Pastor Robin Apreala, has commended Governor Douye Diri for his inspiring show of support towards the reigning Nigeria Women Football League champions, Bayelsa Queens.

Speaking in a recent interview, Pastor Apreala described the governor’s generous reward to players and officials—following their stellar performance in the NWFL Super Six—as a clear reflection of his deep-rooted commitment to sports development.
“Governor Diri’s gesture goes beyond celebration; it’s a motivational tonic ahead of our WAFU Zone-B campaign in Côte d’Ivoire,” said Apreala.
The chairman emphasized that Bayelsa’s consistent recognition of excellence has positioned the state as a benchmark in Nigerian sports, praising the governor and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for ushering in a new era of youth engagement and athletic success.
Pastor Apreala also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Governor, Commissioner for Sports Development Dr. Daniel Igali, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Grace Alagoa, board members, fans, and media stakeholders for their unwavering support.
In addition, he lauded Premium Trust Bank for their corporate backing—highlighting their financial reward of ₦2 million to each player and the donation of a team bus—as a commendable example of private sector involvement in sports growth.
“This kind of support elevates morale and sets the pace for other organizations to follow,” he added.
With the CAF Women’s Champions League on the horizon, Bayelsa Queens are more determined than ever to bring home continental glory.
