Action-packed fixtures across four centers set the stage for a thrilling Matchday Three
The Bayelsa State Football Association League continued with thrilling matchday two encounters across four different venues, as clubs battled for early dominance in their respective groups.
At the Imiringi Township Stadium, Movers FC of Otuasega maintained their fine form with an emphatic 4–0 victory over Metros FC of Otuoke, climbing to the top of Group D. The win marked their second consecutive triumph, having previously edged Light FC.
In the same group, Victory Vault FC of Opume edged Emeyal 2 United, coached by Endurance Spencer, with a narrow 1–0 win, keeping pressure on the leaders. Elsewhere, Light FC bounced back from their opening loss to defeat Hope Alive FC of Otuoke 3–1, handing the latter their second defeat of the campaign.
Over in Group A, Creek FC of Yenagoa secured a dramatic 3–2 win over Saturday FC in a Friday clash at the BDGS Centre in Yenagoa. The victory pushed them to the top of the group standings with four points from two games. The group’s second fixture ended in a 1–1 draw between Better Days FC and Kingdom Stars FC, with both sides settling for their first point of the tournament.
In Group B, defending champions Advance Dreams FA edged past United FC with a hard-earned 2–1 win, keeping their title hopes alive. But it was Youthful Bayelsa FA who stole the spotlight in the group, claiming another 2–1 win, this time against De Rhema FC, to maintain a perfect six-point start and top the standings.
Group C witnessed more fireworks at the Kpansia Centre, where AJ Inter Soccer produced a statement performance with a 4–2 win over Genesis FC, announcing themselves as serious contenders. Seaside Academy also impressed, easing past NYSC FC with a 3–1 victory to go top of the group. Rich Destiny and Stardom Life settled for a goalless draw in the group’s remaining fixture.
Meanwhile, the final matches of Matchday Two at the BDGS Centre on Sunday, July 5 saw Foundation FC narrowly defeat Famgbe FC 1–0, while Glitch FC overcame Kolombia FC 2–1 to move into second place in Group B with six points.
With Matchday Three set to resume this weekend, excitement continues to build as teams jostle for qualification and bragging rights in what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive editions of the Bayelsa FA League.
